Congress activists block NH-37 in Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR, August 24: On the call of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), hundreds of members of Sivasagar Block Congress Committee and Sivasagar Town Block Congress Committee on Monday blocked tiol Highway 37 at Darikapar near Rudra Singha Park. The protestors staged the blockade against the deteriorating condition of NH-37 which has led to massive traffic congestion.

The condition of NH-37 from Gaurisagar to Moranhat in Sivasagar district and from Moran to Lepetkata in Dibrugarh district is rather pathetic since several years. Many intellectuals even mocked the protest of Congress, as no development works have been initiated by the Congress-led government which has been in the power in State since the last 14 years.
