Congress activists burn effigies of rendra Modi, Amit Shah

DOOMDOOMA, Aug 5: The effigies of Prime Minister rendra Modi and Bhartiya Jata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah were burnt by the activists of Indian tiol Congress on Saturday in front of statue of Mahatma Gandhi situated in the heart of the town in protest against pelting of  stones on the vehicle of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi when the latter  was on a visit to Gujarat to take stock of the flood situation there.  MLA of Mariani Rupjyoti Kurmi and local MLA Durga Bhumij were also present in the protest organized by the Kakapather and Hapjan Block Congress workers on Saturday.
Condemning the incident, MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi said that it was as an assault on democracy. “The BJP has let loose a series of activities all over the country whereby the democratic institutions have been undermined. This is not a healthy sign for growth of democracy in the country,” he said. MLA Durga Bhumij was equally vocal against BJP and termed the incident as matter of concern for all democratic people. He said the present NDA government had failed on all fronts. They have failed to execute whatever they had promised to the people  before the elections, he added.
