Bongaigaon, November 28: BJP in-charge of Assam, Mahendra Singh on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, accusing him of lying. He was attending a workers’ meet at Terapanth Marwari Bhavan of Bongaigaon town.
“Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi makes promises to the people of Assam but does nothing for them. Till now he has won by flattering the easy-going people of Assam. But this time this will not be repeated as the people of Assam have already understood his flattery,” said Singh.
Talking about AIUDF, Singh said that AIUDF always had an interl tie-up with Congress. “They show to people that they have differences but actually there are good relations between both the parties. Both Congress and AIUDF are two sides of the same coin,” he said.
Singh said that Union Minister Kiren Rijiju’s recent statement that ST categorization of the six communities of Assam before the assembly polls was not possible, is not BJP’s decision. “What Rijiju said was as minister of the Government of India. It is not the party’s decision. We will discuss about the matter with our leaders,” he said.
