Congress begins campaign to recapture seats in Karbi Anglong

HOWRAGHAT, January 18: In order to strengthen the party base, Congress has begun its campaign in Karbi Anglong. As a part of this, on Saturday a rally was organized at No 1 Bithilangso of mati MAC under Howraghat LA constituency.

State HAD Minister, Kharsing Engti, Tuliram Ronghang, CEM, KAAC, local MAC and EM, Ashok Teron, Agriculture EM, Mongal Sing Timung, Jiban Pathak, EM, KAAC and Lanki Timung, EM, KAAC took part and addressed the rally.

While claiming “good governce” during the Congress tenure, Kharsing Engti urged the public to have faith in the party and support it. He said that people from different castes and communities were given equal treatment by the Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi led State government.

While referring to the infrastructure development, Engti said instructions have been given to the departments to complete all infrastructure works within the stipulated time–frame. He further said that the Congress is committed to work for the common people and it will continue to do so.

Addressing the crowd, he urged the voters not to be lured by false temptations of the opposition parties. “Congress is always for the people and it will work to fulfill its promises accordingly promises,” he said.

Addressing the rally, KAAC CEM, Tuliram Ronghang assured to fulfill all promises made by the KAAC to the people. Meanwhile, Ronghang urged the public to support the Congress for all–round development of the hill district.

It needs to be mentioned here that with an aim to connect with the local people, a campaign has been started from today in Howraghat legislative assembly constituency under the initiative of Premala Beypi, EM, KAAC. During her door–to–door campaign, Beypi interacted face to face with the villagers and assured that the council would solve their grievances.

While talking to the media persons, the upcoming woman Congress leader Beypi asserted that she was getting positive response from the public under her constituency.

She asserted that the drive will be carried out in other constituencies under the Howraghat assembly constituency.
