HOWRAGHAT, February 29: The Congress has started intensive poll campaign in Karbi Anglong for the forthcoming polls.

Meetings and rallies have been organized in every constituency to attract voters. A Gandhi Sabha-cum-Jajagaran rally was organized on Monday at Howraghat Pan Engti playground where thousands of people from eight Members of Autonomous Constituencies (MACs) under Howraghat legislative assembly participated.

The large turnout of people at this Gandhi Sabha-cum-Jajagaran rally is encouraging and building the confidence of the Congress towards electoral victory. While addressing the gathering, Tuliram Ronghang, Chief Executive Member (CEM), KAAC sought public support for State HAD minister Kharsing Engti in the upcoming polls.

Kharsing Engti urged voters to lead the Congress to victory in the polls. Attacking the saffron party, Engti criticized the rendra Modi-led NDA government for cutting various funds and alleged that the BJP government was obstructing development works by cutting the funds of different schemes.

The rally was also addressed by Dr Mansing Rongpi, Parliamentary Secretary, Government of Assam. KAAC EMs Premala Beypi, Bidya Rongpi, Sarat Brahma, Mangol Sing Timung, Lanki Timung and many Congress leaders were present in the Gandhi Sabha-cum-Jajagaran rally.
