Congress candidate Chandan Sarkar submits nomition

Abhayapuri, March 22: Heavyweight candidate of the Congress party, Chandan Sarkar filed his nomition for 35 Abhayapuri South (SC) on Tuesday at the SDO (Civil) Office of North Salmara, stated a press release.

A huge crowd gathered at the Gandhi Maidan to greet the minister and about 30,000 people gathered at the Maidan and followed him to the SDO (Civil) office to file his nomition. Sarkar, along with Congress leader Abdul Kasim and senior Congress worker Syed Abdus Samath, submitted his nomition papers to Kanta Das, Nodal Officer of 35-Abhayapuri South (SC).

Another heavyweight candidate of the Congress, Abdul Hai iguri, too submitted his papers to bajyoti Ojha, Nodal Officer of 34-Abhayapuri North.

Besides these, four more candidates who submitted their papers on Tuesday are Bhagirath Ray and Ashok Dutta for 34 Abhayapuri North and 35 –Abhayapuri South (SC) respectively, both belonging to Republic Party of India, Dipak Ruhi Das for 35-Abhayapuri South (SC) as Independent candidate and Asraful Islam for 34-Abhayapuri North of Trimool Congress.
