Congress committed to development of hill district: Tuliram

DIPHU, April 1: Addressing a public meeting at Donkamokam Waisong playground today Tuliram Ronghang, Chief Executive Member (CEM), Karbi Anglong

Autonomous Council (KAAC) said that during Congress regime only the then Mikir Hill district now Karbi Anglong was formed and now Hamren subdivision has been given the status of District and christened as West Karbi Anglong and Howraghat was also declared as subdivision.

“Till now no other party has contributed for development of the District except Congress since the formation of the district,” the CEM added.

Lambasting on BJP, he said that not even a single MAC got elected from BJP, only disgruntled Congress leaders such as of Ex CEM Joyram Engleng, Ex CEM Sum Ronghang, Ex EM Roton Engti are leading the party without their mass support.

In the me of bringing change they are planning to change our peaceful and brotherhood existence, by bringing turmoil, hatred and jealousy among us, the CEM alleged.

Taking a dig at Prime Minister rendra Modi, Ronghang said that the employment opportunity for the youths of the district and land pattas, will be given by KAAC authorities, not by Modi.

Congress candidate of 20th Boithalangso (ST) Dr Mansing Rongpi said that no development agenda or package was mentioned for the Hills District of Assam in BJPs ‘Election Manifesto’.
