SHILLONG, June 24: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) minority observer for Meghalaya, galand and Mizoram Rejaul Karim Laskar has strongly condemned the incident of attack on a Church in Assam by unidentified miscreants on the night of June 20.
Laskar has demanded a transparent and impartial investigation to find out the miscreants behind the attack.
It is may be noted that on the night of June 20 unidentified miscreants vandalised the Catholic Cathedral Church of Chapaguri in Chirang district of Assam.
Laskar has called upon the Assam Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal to ensure safety of every section of society in Assam including the religious minorities and their places of worship.
