Congress demands 90:10 pattern of funding

Donkamokam, February 24: Hundreds of Congress activists of West Karbi Anglong district marched towards the Assistant Revenue Office (ARO),  Donkamokam on Wednesday and submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister rendra Modi demanding status quo 90:10 pattern of funding as done by previous UPA government.

Various demands mentioned in the memorandum include Special Category Status to Assam which Assam was enjoying since 1969, restoration of the suspended North East Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy (NEIIPP), formation of North East Brahmaputra River Valley Authority for the purpose of controlling flood and erosion in Assam and Special Funding System enjoyed by few selected districts of Assam under Backward Region Grant Fund.

Deputy Secretary, KAAC, Dilip Teron received the memorandum.  Organized by Rongkhang Block Congress Committee (RBCC), the march started from RBCC office till ARO office and was led by Chairman of Veteriry Dev Board and president RBCC, Ditolal Hasnu. He was accompanied by Education Reform Board chairman and KADCC general secretary Horendra Kro Nihang and KADCC vice-president Motilal Bordoloi.
