Congress Doubting Credibility of Armed Forces: Ram Madhav

GUWAHATI: Ram Madhav, the BJP national general secretary and in-charge of North East, on Sunday came down heavily on the Congress and the Opposition parties saying that they have been “misleading the public on various issues through some directions which are vague. The nation is now clueless whether they are fighting for India or for Pakistan.” Addressing media at the party headquarter here, Madhav said, “Their leaders doubt the credibility of our armed forces. They question not just the credibility of our government but also pass silly comments on the personnel guarding our frontiers. The Congress statements are more retwitted in Pakistan. If they go and contest the elections in Pakistan, they might even win there. This is the condition of our main Opposition parties.”

He added, “The Congress does not have any issues to really take on our government. It is fighting a clueless battle. The people of the nation are confusing about their objectives.”

Stating that the Narendra Modi Government would return to power in the Centre, Madhav said “The Prime Minister’s popularity has not waned. His wave is still blowing across the country, and that is the reason behind our slogan “Phir Ekbaar Modi Sarkaar’ (Once Again Modi Government).

Referring to the issues affecting the Northeast and Assam, Madhav claimed, “The BJP and its allies will win in 20 out of the 25 Parliamentary seats in Northeast, and in Assam we will alone get 10 seats in the polls. In the Arunachal Assembly polls, we will get the majority seats and form the State government in the Himalayan State.”

On its allies in the Northeast, Madhav said, “There are no differences among the constituents of North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA). Though some of the NEDA constituents are contesting this polls on their own; after the election we will all come together.”

Referring to the selection of party candidates in Assam, the BJP leader said, “The State BJP gave a recommendation of the probable party candidates to the central leadership. The decisions were made at the Central level.”

On Himanta Biswa Sarma, he said, “Dr Sarma will look after the coordination of NEDA, and also monitor the development issues in the region.”

He further alleged, “The Congress in Assam has no agenda. It is entering into an unholy alliance with the AIUDF only to defeat BJP. But the public is very much aware of it. The electors will definitely vote for the right candidates this time.”
