Congress got the maximum vote share: Pala

SHILLONG, Dec 22: Two-time Member of Parliament from the Shillong seat Vincent H Pala doesn’t give importance to the Congress party for its below par performance in the just concluded by-polls to the seven seats in the two Autonomous Districts Councils (ADCs). The Congress fielded candidates in all the seven seats and maged to win in two seats. Political alyst reads the defeat of Congress candidates in at least five constituencies is a reading on the wall for the 2018 legislative assembly elections.  However, Pala told The Sentinel on Thursday, “I respect the verdict of people, but you should remember that the Congress got the maximum vote share during the elections.”  “It’s excellent even if our party won only two seats,” Pala, who is known to be close to  the sacked two time Congress MLA and present Chief Executive Member of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) PN Syiem. Pala further said, “Setback is for others but not for a man with positive thinking.”
