From a Correspondent

Golaghat, Oct  8: Activists of Bharatiya Jata Party (BJP) Golaghat district committee staged a protest near the Deputy Commissioner Office on Thursday against alleged corruption in various government departments.

A press release by president of Golaghat Town Block Committee, Raj Chaliha stated that the Congress was involved in misappropriation of  government fund released for poor people.

Golaghat district BJP president Debojit Bora said that the Tarun Gogoi government was sucking the blood of poor people. “Congress has been playing a yarn-blanket policy. They mislead the common people by giving yarn and blanket. But the Congress never comes forward to solve the problems of common people,” alleged Bora. He slammed the Congress government and alleged that many of the departments in Golaghat district were reeking of corruption.  Many government schemes had not been implemented and the fund of these schemes had been misappropriated, he further alleged.

BJP activists shouted slogans against the Tarun Gogoi-led Congress government demanding solution to various problems in Golaghat district like supply of pure drinking water, domestic gas pipe line, load shedding, artificial flood in Golaghat town, draige system and supply of sufficient medicine to KK Civil Hospital. They submitted a memorandum to the Governor of Assam through the Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat.
