Congress launches campaign for Prati Phukan

mrup, March 24 : With the assembly polls approaching, the Congress party has geared up to launch a poll campaign to woo the voters of 120 harkatia  LAC segment in favour of their candidate and sitting MLA Prati Phukan, who has been representing 120 harkatia LAC since 1996, defeating her  rivals in the last four consecutive assembly elections. The ruling Congress has also been organizing several party meetings in collaboration with the Joypur Block Congress, 15 mandals, tea cells and Joypur Block Youth Congress to strengthen the party’s base at the grassroots level under the guidance of Prati Phukan. In the forthcoming polls at least 1, 17,547 voters (60,452 males and 57,095 females) will exercise their franchise in 171 polling stations. The 120 harkotiya LAC comprises two town committees, 14 gaon panchayats and 104 wards.
