Congress leaders arrested for collecting money

GOLAGHAT, May 26: Golaghat police on Monday arrested two women leaders of Congress party on charges of collecting money from some unemployed youths promising to mage jobs for them.

Police sources said local Congress leaders Mamoni Saikia of Adharsatra and Jita Saikia of Chitali, who area known as close associates of State Cultural Affairs Minister Bismita Gogoi, collected a huge amount of money from unemployed youths of the area promising to provide them jobs in Assam Police.

Acting on some specific input , Golaghat police arrested the duo on Monday.
