Congress leaders slam BJP government

Biswath Chariali, Jan 23: In view of the upcoming panchayat election in the State, Biswath District Congress Committee held two public meetings on Tuesday at Dhulie Tea Estate and Adabheti village, respectively. Taking part in the meetings, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee chief and Rajya Sabha MP Ripun Borah and former Minister Rakibul Hussain strongly criticized the BJP government at the Centre and State, as well. Ripun Borah commented that the BJP government had been working for the benefit of corporate houses like Ambanis and Adanis only and the government’s schemes like Digital India and Start-Up had helped the rich to prosper. The Sixth Extension of the Kaziranga tiol Park had affected badly the inhabitants of the areas and Congress would re-demarcate the boundary of it if it came to power again, he added. Rakibul Hussein said that the BJP government had deprived everyone in the country. He further added that every citizen’s me who had come to the State before 1971, must be included in the tiol Register for Citizens (NRC).
