Congress mes Dikanchi D Shira for Tura by-poll

SHILLONG, April 21: The Congress has approved the nomition of Dikanchi D Shira as the candidate for the by-elections for the Tura parliamentary seat. The decision was taken in a meeting of the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) held at the residence of DD Lapang on Thursday night.

A general Secretary of the MPCC confirmed to The Sentinel that the wife of the Chief Minister and elected MLA from Mahendraganj has been chosen as the candidate for the Parliamentary by-polls.

The NPP is likely to declare the candidate for the by-poll on Friday.

The NPP is expected to choose amongst the two siblings of PA Sangma—Conrad K Sangma and Agathata K Sangma.
