Congress MLA demands probe into property of BJP leaders

GOLAGHAT (Dhekial), Jan 2:  Congress MLA Abdul Khalek has demanded proper enquiry into Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal, ministers Himanta Biswa Sarma and Chandra Mohan Patowary as well as other BJP leaders of Assam during a press meet on demonetization at the Congress Bhavan in Golaghat on Monday.

He criticized Prime Minister rendra Modi for   demonetization in India. He said that Modi had launched a surgical strike on India’s poor farmers, labourers, shopkeepers, small businesses and middle class people. He further alleged that as ordiry people stood in bank queues for days together to withdraw their own money, black marketers succeeded in converting black money into white by charging a commission up to 30 per cent. He said that the role of the BJP leaders involved in the cases had not been investigated.

He said that demonetization paralyzed the entire agricultural economy where Rabi crops had taken a severe hit. Cash crops like tomato and onions were being sold at Rs 1/kg and 50 paisa/kg respectively, he alleged.  He demanded that Prime Minister rendra Modi should issue an unconditiol apologize and pay compensation to 115 innocent individuals who had died in the 50 days of demonetization. He demanded a neutral enquiry into the property of all BJP leaders in Assam.
