KOKRAJHAR, April 9: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee(APCC) president Anjan Dutta on Saturday campaigned for United People’s Party(UPP) candidate of 29 Kokrajhar West (S/T) LAC, Urkhao Gwra Brahma at Fakiragram (Mokosha) in Kokrajhar district.
Dutta told media persons that in the first phase election, the Congress would get 40-45 seats and in the second phase, the party would get at least 30 seats. Criticizing the alliance of BJP-BPF- AGP, Dutta said that the BJP was a commul political party and at the same time he also said that the BPF would get only two seats in BTC areas. He said the voters of the State would not cast their vote in favour of BJP as it was a commul party.
Dutta said the Hagrama Mohilary-led BPF and the AGP would also be rejected by the people of Assam. “The Congress is the only political party which always works for peace, development and commul harmony,” said Dutta. He appealed to people to cast their valuable votes in favour of UPP candidate Urkhao Gwra Brahma.
On the other hand, UPP candidate Urkhao Gwra Brahma said that in BTC area starting from Gossaigaon to Udlaguri, the party would get 7-8 seats while the BPF would get only two seats. Brahma also said that that time had come to say goodbye to BPF and welcome the UPP.
