Joysagar, July 1: Sivasagar district Congress committee sharply opposed the Centre’s move to implement GST throughout the country. The Congress workers gathered in Dolmukh Chariali of Sivasagar town on Saturday morning and shouted slogans against GST and Central Government. They alleged that rendra Modi had opposed GST when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat but now he had become the chief advocate of GST. The Congress further alleged that the Modi government was trying to abolish all the State rights and BJP did not want to the federal system of the country to function properly. GST will not benefit Assam and small businessmen of the State will suffer from such central taxation process, said the Congress.
