Congress organizes Iftar party

GOALPARA, July 10: The Goalpara District Congress Committee (DCC) on Thursday arranged an Iftar party in its office ‘Khagendrath Bhawan’ where about two hundred workers, supporters and common people from different religions participated. The programme was aimed at celebrating Ramadan month as well as bringing close the workers and office bearers setting aside the differences of opinions, sources said.  Alhaj Abu Sayed, president DCC, welcomed the guests and invited them for the sweet and plain dishes prepared specially on the occasion. ABS Jotder, former MLA, advocate Amzad Ali, Nilambar Patowari, Sukumar Ghosh, Muzaffar Ali, Abul Kalam Hussain Zilla Parishad chairperson Maleka Khatun and many other district leaders participated in the party.  It may be mentioned that Alhaj Abu Sayed has been newly appointed as the president of DCC in place of Alhaj Abdur Rasid Mondal by APCC president Anjan Dutta.
