Congress protests against  Citizenship (Amendment) Bill

RANGIA, May 23: In order to protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016, Rangia town and rural block Congress committee workers took out a protest rally and gheraoed the circle office of Rangia on Wednesday.

Party leaders, including former MP of Mangaldai HPC, Madhab Rajbongshi, former MLA and president of Kamrup District Congress committee, Ghanashyam Kalita, also took part in the protest. Protesters shouted slogans against the Central government. Later, a memorandum was submitted to the JPC chairman Rajendra Agarwal through the Circle Officer of Rangia, Emilee Baruah. A short street corner meeting was also organized in the campus of the Circle Office where the leaders firmly protested against the controversial bill.
