Congress rubbishes NPP allegation

SHILLONG, Feb 16: A day after allegation were hurled at the Congress supporters for being involved in setting fire to a house that belong to an NPP candidate at Lapangap village under rtiang constituency in West Jaintia Hills, the Congress members on Friday rubbished the allegations. Members of the Congress from rtiang unit of Lapangngap, West Jaintia Hills, in a press conference held in the city on Friday, said that they were not involved in the alleged arson case. The owner of the house Melinda Dkhar,  who is a supporter of NPP candidate Sniawbhalang Dhar, alleged that the Congress supporters had torched her house while she and her family was attending election campaigns at Saitsama and Mukoilum villages. Congress member Deimonmi Lyngdoh, while addressing reporters, said that it was a family matter and neither the Congress neither party nor its supporters have anything to do with the arson at Lapangap village.
