Congress takes umbrage to 'conspiracy' to spoil party's image

From a Correspondent

Dibrugarh, July 19: The District Congress Committee through a press release has cautioned a few sections of people who are trying to spoil the image of the party by spreading false propaganda against Tingkhong Block Congress.

Various groups are trying to destabilize the organizatiol status of the Congress party by conspiring to create trouble between the party lines that has come to the notice of the District Congress Committee. If pages of history are turned, the fact that Indian tiol Congress (INC) and Assam Cha Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS) are two sides of the same coin will be loud and clear. In that situation, the unsubstantial news on differences among Tingkhong Block Congress and Mahila Cha Mazdoor Sangha (MCMS) is a part of bad publicity.

The July 14 incident of burning the effigies of ACMS president Paban Singh Ghatowar and president of MCMS Committee, Jibontara Ghatowar, has been criticized in strong words by the president of District Congress Committee and former MLA of Tingkhong, Etuwa Munda.

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee has been informed about the matter by the District Congress Committee for taking necessary action to identify the persons involved in the incident. In this matter the investigation ordered by Pradesh Congress Committee has been welcomed by the District Congress President and all the officials concerned.

The said group of people, by maging the administration, is conspiring to create trouble in the various programmes of the Congress party. All individuals and organizations associated with the party have been urged to work towards cohesively strengthening the party, the press release stated.
