Congress to observe Black Day against demonetization

Itagar, Nov 6: The Congress in Aruchal Pradesh has decided to observe November 8 as ‘Black Day’ against demonetization policy of the BJP led NDA government at the Centre.
Prime Minister rendra Modi, on November 8 last year, announced demonetization of 86 per cent of the currency in circulation in the country.
Subsequently, the Congress party and the entire opposition across the country questioned the decision of the Prime Minister both inside and outside of the Parliament.
The party has decided to organize a peaceful procession from Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan to Tennis Court here during the day and would organize a candle light march from Tennis court to Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan in the evening, a statement from the party said here on Monday.
AICC secretary Dr K Jayakumar, who is in charge of Aruchal Pradesh, will join the programme.
The Aruchal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has appealed all the party leaders and workers of the State along with the opposition political parties, NGOs, supporters and well wishers to join the proposed programme, the statement added.
