Congress will be rejected by people this time: Sonowal

GAON, Feb 18: “Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has the habit of gossiping and hence he often addresses press conferences and tries to divert the public,” alleged BJP State president Sarbanda Sonowal during an interaction with some media persons in gaon.

He said that this time the people of Assam would restrain the run of the Congress in the State as they had decided to bring the BJP to power in the State.  When quipped about Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi’s recent remark against Sonowal, the BJP State president said that this time the Congress would be rejected by the people and in this fear Gogoi kept calling for press conferences.

Sonowal added that instead of gossiping like Gogoi, he believed in strengthening the party ahead of the assembly polls. He alleged that during the Congress rule in the State, illegal influx had increased.  Replying to a question regarding the fund release for the South Asian Games (SAG)  as raised by Chief Minister Gogoi, the State BJP president said that if the Centre had not released  funds, how could SAG, 2016 have been held so successfully?

Sonowal took part in a discussion with the party ticket aspirants of 18 assembly seats of five districts like gaon, Morigaon, Koliabor, Hojai and Karbi Anglong held in gaon tya Mandir.
