'Congress will form next government'

SILCHAR, Jan 1: Congress Micro Committee held public meetings in Lakhipur tea estate, Singerbond and Singerbond cooperative of Mazumder Bazar area of the subdivision recently. Monojit Das resided over the meetings in Lakhipur tea estate and Singerbond cooperative while W Birendra Singha presided over the meeting held at Singerbond area. Rajdeep Goala, MLA Lakhipur, was the chief-guest of the meetings. He was taken in a rally from Barak bridge by Congress supporters and workers to the venue. The programmes were jointly organized by Binkandie mandal Congress and micro committee of the party.

 Speaking on the meeting held in Lakhipur tea estate, Rajdeep Goala said Congress will definitely form the next government in the ensuing polls. He said the state government has constructed a utch ghar at an estimated cost of Rs.6 lakhs in the tea estate, besides one market shed was also constructed recently in the area. Others who spoke on the occasion included Hareswar Dhubi, SC board chairman, Kanta Sinha, OBC board chairman, Maibati Rabidas, anchalik panchayat president, social workers Durgakanta Pandey, Gonesh Roy, Pritam Debroy and Bikram Goala.

 In Singerbond meeting, Goala said that work for CC block laying from P K College to Putikhal via Laikalbasti will start from January this year. Besides, for Singerbond, Maninglakei and Kairenglekas, two PHE schemes each have been sanctioned. A proposal for a community hall at an estimated cost of Rs.1 lakh has already been sent to the state government. Goala added to say that he along with Sushmita Dev, MP Silchar, took initiative for a proposal to stop river erosion in Singerbond area. The Doner Ministry has already sanctioned Rs.11 crore for the purpose and works will start after election.

 The public complained to Goala that for the past three years, there are no pharmacist and medical officer in Singerbond Medical Sub Centre. Goala assured the public that he would meet Dr. zrul Islam, health and family welfare minister, S Viswathan, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Cachar, and joint director of district health and discuss the issue. Others who spoke on the meeting included C H Mohan Sinha, R K Sahal Singh, P Rajendra Sinha and U Chouba Singha.

 While attending the meeting in Singerbond cooperative, Rajdeep Goala said boats will be launched to ferry passengers across the river from cooperative ferryghat.
