Congress workers burn Modi's effigy

SILCHAR, Nov 5: The long demand for ‘One Rank, One Pension’ (OROP) by the Indian army personnel has not been addressed by the present Government at the Centre. In addition, subedar Ram Kishan Grewal’s (69), retired Army, alleged suicide at a government office at Delhi and his suicide note stating Prime Minister rendra Modi could not keep his promise of salary and pension hike for the army personnel, has agitated the Indian army. It was written in the suicide note that PM Modi has promised to hike their salaries and pensions and failed to do so.

 DCC members stated this at a press release that when Rahul Gandhi, Congress co-president, was on his way to meet the bereaved family at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, he was illegally detained for 3 hours by Delhi police under the direction of the Union Government. They have stated that it was repetition of Hitler’s activities during his regime. Not only Rahul Gandhi, Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal and sub- Chief Minister was also detained on their way to the Hospital. DDC condemned such unlawful activities of the police and has termed it unconstitutiol.

 Later, Rahul Gandhi was taken to Madan Marg by the police. In protest, members of DCC, Silchar, led by president, Karnendu Bhattacharjee, burnt an effigy of the Prime Minister at Park road of this town, on Thursday. They severely criticized such acts of dictatorship and along with the tion, burnt effigies of the Prime Minister. The members tool out a protest rally, gave slogans against the Government’s autocratic ways of workings. They were of the opinion that Prime Minister rendra Modi is lying and fooling the tion. Such acts are not deemed as democratic and constitutiol.
