Conrad joins chorus of condemtion

Shillong, Sept 7: Lok Sabha MP from Tura Conrad K Sangma expressed his concern at the murder of jourlist Gauri Lankesh in Bengaluru, besides calling upon the Kartaka government to ensure speedy justice in this case. The guilty must be found and brought to book, he demanded.

"Any violent crime against anyone is a matter of concern for all of us. Civilized societies do not condone or justify crimes such as murder," stated Sangma, adding, "Lankesh was a bold and outspoken jourlist and activist. It is likely that her killing was related to her work. This is, therefore, also an attack on the media and on activism". 

He further said that a free press is one of the pillars of a democratic society and such attacks cannot be allowed to go unpunished.

Incidents of this ture have intertiol ramifications and hurt India's image in the world.
