Conrad pledges to carry forward visions of PA Sangma

SHILLONG, May 26: Newly elected Tura MP and tiol president of the tiolist People’s Party (NPP) Conrad Sangma pledged to carry forward the dreams and visions of his late father Purno A Sangma. Speaking to newsmen in Shillong on Thursday, the newly elected MP said, “There are many issues in my constituency as well as in the state that I intend to take up.  We will collectively try to find a solution to these issues.” Sangma also spoke at length about connectivity, unemployment, farmers’ issues, education and other aspects that needed to taken care of. When asked about the allegation made the Chief Minister about tampering of EVMs by NPP, Sangma said, “It is ippropriate to make such an allegation. Its government their government and if there was any manipulation it must be from their side”.  Asked on the law and order situation in Garo Hills, the MP expressed happiness that a large number of cadres belonging to the Garo tiol Liberation Army have come out to surrender.  He said that the Government has to respond to them in a positive manner.
