Conrad slams State government

Shillong, Nov 30: tiol People’s Party (NPP) leader Conrad K Sangma today criticised the State government for not visiting the families of those who died in the army shooting in Kharkutta, North Garo Hills district.

“None from the government visited the victims’ families. This shows the apathy on the part of the government,” Sangma said.

According to Sangma, if the State government wants to change in the law and order scerio in Garo Hills, it will have to go to the grassroots and know the problems.

Meanwhile, during the meeting with Governor V Shanmugathan, the members of the Executive Council (EC) of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) took up the law and order situation in Garo Hills. According to Sangma, the Governor took the opinion of each and every member present at the meeting.

Meanwhile, when asked on the status of his nomition as the nomited member of GHADC, Sangma said, “The process has to be followed. We are allowing the government to take their time.”
