Conrad urges Centre to set up ESIC hospital

Shillong, May 2: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Wednesday called on Union Minister for Labour and Employment Santosh Kumar Gangwar in New Delhi to discuss on the matter of setting up of Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) hospital in the State.

On this count, the Chief Minister submitted a memorandum to the Union Minister to set up the ESIC Hospital at Ri-Bhoi. The Union Minister has assured to look into the request made by the State Government.

ESIC hospital is an initiative of the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment that provides advanced facilities for treatment for the beneficiaries.

The Chief Minister informed that the ESIC Hospital would have 24x7 facilities for attention calls on insured persons and their family members who wish to seek advice and guidance during casualty and emergency. It would also have a special OPD for senior citizens and differently abled persons. The AYUSH facilities would also be available at ESIC hospital.
