Conservation Day observed

Tezpur, Nov 25:  Conservation Day was celebrated by Sonitpur Soil Conservation Division, Tezpur at Govt Boys’ HS School here today. Speaking on the occasion, R.N. Das, Divisiol Officer of Sonitpur Soil Conservation Division, Tezpur said, “We all depend on tural resources like water, air, soil, minerals, tress and animals to lead our lives.”  He said that since 1970, pressure on environment has doubled and resources have been declined by 33 per cent.  “Conservation is the ethical use and protection of available resources such as trees, minerals, wildlife, water and others. It focuses on maintaining the tural world in order to protect the resources,” he added. Smirti Rekha Goswami, Principal of Boys’ Govt. HS School, Tezpur in her speech stressed on the protection of our tural resources.
