Consider trainees as trained teachers, demands MSSASA

SHILLONG, March 6:  After the deadlines given to the Chairman of the tiol Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), Noida, Uttar Pradesh, which ended on February 16 and there is no response from the NIOS,  the Meghalaya SSA School Association (MSSASA), Central Body, strongly demanded that the State Government should consider the aggrieved D.El.Ed Trainees comprising of 4385 teachers of batch 2013 and 3437 teachers of  batch 2014 as trained teachers.

“We have urged the Chief Minister Mukul Sangma at the representation submitted to him on January 31 to consider all the 7822 aggrieved teachers (trainees) as trained teachers i.e 4385 whose mark sheets and certificate still withheld due to anomalies created by NIOS on the result declared on September 9 last year that also after a delayed of 9 months and the 3437 teachers (trainees) of batch 2014 whose 1st year result is not declare till date because of delay for declaring the results and obtaining the certificate as trained teachers is not the matters and faults of the aggrieved teachers (trainees) but it the faults of the NIOS then why those 7822 in-service teachers have to suffer on the mistakes created and done by NIOS,” MSSASA Central Body General Secretary H M Marbaniang said.

He said as per MHRD Project Approval Board (PAB)’s minutes of 2016-17 for Meghalaya held on April 22 last year chaired by SC Khuntia, Secretary, Department of SE&L MHRD, Government of India, the State Government clearly mentioned that the 4385 of batch 2013 had received their training certificate in Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) course from NIOS.

In view of this, he said, “So under the above mentioned facts and circumstances we strongly demand the State Government for considering all the aggrieved 7822 in-service teachers as Trained Teachers, especially those SSA teachers who also the aggrieved trainees can enjoy the benefits of the revised pay as notified by the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan State Education Mission Authority Meghalaya (SSA-SEMAM) Shillong.”

He added, “Moreover, It now more than one year the aggrieved D.El.Ed Trainees waiting for the NIOS and the State Government to rectify the faults on Diploma in Elementary Education Result and to solve the problems but there is no response neither from the NIOS nor from the State Government.”
