Constitution Day observed

Silchar, Nov 26: tiol Institute of Technology, Silchar observed the Constitution Day with the support and cooperation of faculty, staff and students of the Institute, on Friday. Preamble to the Constitution of India and Fundamental Duties as enshrined in Article 51A of the Constitution was read out by the faculty, staff and students of the Institute as a pledge in presence of Prof Rajat Gupta, Director and Prof A K Barbhuiya, Registrar.

In addition to this, various literary events were also organized that comprised debates, speeches, and essays on the Constitution of India. A large number of students from different semesters took active part in the literary events. Although the Constitution Day is earmarked on 26 November but as per Ministry of Human Resource Development notification, the event was observed at NIT Silchar on Friday since today was a holiday.

Prof M A Ahmed, Dean (Students Welfare) was the chairman and Rajib Kahar, Assistant Registrar (Estt) was the coorditor of the event. NIT Students Gymkha Union Body also played a handful role in organizing the event successfully. This has been informed at a press release by Rajib Kahar.
