Constitution Day observed in Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR, Nov 27: The Sivasagar district administration observed Constitution Day by organizing a programme at the Syukafa Conference Hall in the office of the Deputy Commissioner here on Monday. Since November 26 was a holiday (Sunday), the day was observed today. The Constitution Day is observed to celebrate the adoption of the Indian Constitution by the Constituent Assembly on November 26, 1949, which came into force on January 26, 1950.
During the programme, Deputy Commissioner rayan Konwer elaborately discussed the Preamble of the Indian Constitution, and later read aloud the Preamble of the Constitution. District Development Commissioner Abhijit Baruah, Additiol Deputy Commissioners Aswini Kr Doley, Moon Gogoi and Bidit Das and staff took part in the programme.
Meanwhile, Preamble of the Constitution was also read in educatiol institutions in Sivasagar. Besides, activities like quiz, mock parliament, lectures, essay and debate competitions were also organized in various educatiol institutions to mark the day.
