Construction work of APL's new methanol plant begins

mrup, May 8: Assam Petrochemicals Ltd (APL), a State Government undertaking located at mrup, is a premiere petro-chemicals industry of the entire north-eastern region. Considering the viability of existing plants and realizing the need of survival and growth, APL has already spruced up to touch the high by implementing a new 500 TPD Methanol and 200 TPD Formalin project along with a 7 MW Captive Power Plant by investing a total capital outlay of Rs 1,337 crore with the equity participation from the Government of Assam and M/S Oil India Limited. The construction work of APL’s new 500 TPD Methanol plant started from Sunday. Earlier, following the Vedic ritual,  a bhumi puja was done by Ratul Bordoloi, Maging Director APL, in the presence of notable dignitaries like APL chairman, Jagadish Bhuyan, local MLA Noren Sonowal, APL vice-chairman Bipul Deka and officers of the senior magement team, to mark the formal starting of the construction works.
