Construction work of Bogibeel Bridge stalled again

Dibrugarh, May 24: The ongoing work at the construction site of the Bogibeel Bridge has been halted yet again due to an altercation between the workers. As per sources, things turned ugly when many workers belonging to the southern bank of Brahmaputra, at the behest of a contractor, disrupted the bridge’s work at its northern end on Thursday. Such fracas between the two set of workers, working at both the ends of the mega project, has gathered momentum recently, much to the annoyance of the people here who are eagerly awaiting its inauguration this year. Police was looking into the matter and have also summoned a few workers in relation to the intermittent obstructions being caused at the construction site.
