Consumer Commission starts functioning

IMPHAL, May 12: The Manipur State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission which has been sitting idle without doing anything for the last four years has at last started functioning. Official reports said that it had started functioning from February 1 this year. It has been non-functiol since 2011. Justice (Retd) Ashok Potsangbam is the president of the commission.  There is a member and another woman member will be appointed. A health line is also opened in a room in the old secretariat. Branches will be opened in all districts. The commission has disposed of 314 cases so far. There are  140 pending cases.
