Consumers harassed due to alleged errors in meter reading

MARGHERITA, Jan 4: Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL), Margherita is allegedly making false bills and harassing consumers on many occasions. A Rehman, a resident of Masjid Patty, Margherita, alleged that from November 1 to December 1, 2015, he received a bill of Rs 1,391. He then went to the APDCL, Margherita office and then the real meter reading came out and he was given a new bill of Rs 599.  An employee of APDCL Margherita subdivision said that often there are errors in meter reading due to which consumers are harassed.
