Contestants declared for bypolls

Jowai, Nov 4: The filing of nomition papers for MDC by-election of East Jaintia Hills is still two weeks ahead, but different parties had set up their candidates for the vacant post, resigned by Stephanson Mukhim who is also the local MLA of the constituency. The contestants declared were Lamdibok Sumer of INC, former MDC of the constituency and an ex-CEM of JHADC, Firstborn Manner, United Democratic Party (UDP), Shmen Kyndait, Bharatiya Jata Party (BJP) and Losing Laku (Independent). The election will be held on December 13.
