Contraband seized in joint operation

Itanagar, May 1: In a joint operation, a team of police and IRBn personnel raided the houses of alleged drug peddlers Chow Chantana Khen and Chow Binoy Khen in Jenglai village in Piyong circle of Namsai district on March 30 last.

During the raid, suspected contraband substances were seized along with cash, drug paraphernalia, weighing machines and small packets used for packing drugs.

Cases have been registered at the Namsai police station under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, an official release stated. The police team comprised DSP Sepraj Perme, PS OC CB Rai and police and IRBn personnel, women activists from the Women Welfare Society and Narcotic Cell nodal officer Olik Koyu, the release added.
