Contractors asked to complete all construction work by December

JORHAT, Sept 15: In view of non-completion of various construction works and schemes by various departments, these works have to be completed by December, said Pallav Gopal Jha, the Deputy Commissioner of Majuli on Thursday. The undergoing works which have been going on for over a year, are yet to be completed. So time has been fixed for completion by December this year as the completion time has expired several months ago. The Deputy Commissioner has issued instructions to all the departmental heads for early completion of the ongoing construction works. The DC in a meeting further warned the departmental heads that they would face action if they did not fulfil the norms in completion of their respective construction work, bills would be withheld or would have to face legal action as every work had rules to be followed within the stipulated time. The contractors were warned and issued notices several times. In the last meeting held recently by the DC where he issued an order to complete all construction work tentatively by December. During the meeting, ren Das, Additiol Deputy Commissioner, and Jenifer Yasmine, Extra Assistant Commissioner of Majuli Island district were also present. The meeting was held in the DC’s conference hall at Goromur.
