Contractors patronized by BJP ‘stop’ contractor from submitting tender

GAON (HAIBORGAON), March 19: Sensation prevailed in gaon town on Saturday noon following an incident that took place at the premise of the office of the Superintendent Engineer, PWD (road), gaon, circle in which some contractors patronized by the ruling party BJP allegedly stopped a contractor from submitting his tender papers and also allegedly assaulted and dragged him out of the office premise.  Later, following the incident, the higher authority of the office had to call the magistrate and other security personnel to bring the situation under control. According to the sources, the PWD (road) circle asked tender papers for repair and renovation of various roads of the district and Saturday was the last date for submitting the tender papers. One contractor of Samaguri LAC med Pradip Bora along with other contractors went to the office to drop his tender papers for a particular road. But before submitting his papers, some local contractors who are allegedly patronized by the ruling party, stopped him and tried to assault him and also dragged him out from the office premise. The sources added that the attackers alleged that the victim contractor was a close associate of former minister Rokibul Hussain and hence they did not let him drop his tender documents for that particular road.
