Contractual jobs to be made permanent: Anjan Dutta

GAURISAGAR, March 24: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president and Amguri MLA Anjan Dutta on Monday laid the foundation stone of a multi-purpose project at Gaurisagar near Gaurisagar-Dikhowmukh road. In this connection a public meeting was held.

Addressing the gathering Dutta highlighted the development schemes of the Congress government. He said the Congress had been working for the downtrodden by providing free blankets, looms and pension. Dutta also said that if the Congress government came to power in 2016, contractual jobs would be made permanent. He also said that agitation could not solve problems. He welcomed Akhil Gogoi for formation of a political party. At the same time the APCC chairman urged ULFA’s (Swadhin) c-in-c Paresh   Baruah to join the political field instead of struggle.

Dutta called upon various organizations and people involved in agitation to avoid it for the greater interest of Assam. In the meeting AC Chakraborty, CEO, Sivasagar Zila Parishad rrated the technical aspects and merits of the said project.  The project will be implemented by the 13th Fince Commission at the cost of Rs 1.25 crore and it will be completed within one year. The proposed double storey multi-purpose building will be used for bank with ATM, market, restaurant and semir hall.

The meeting was  attended by Shanta Gogoi, president, Sivasagar Zila Parishad, vice-president and general secretary of Sivasagar Zila Congress Committee, Purajit Mahanta and Chandi Gogoi respectively.
