Control infighting first, Shah tells Samajwadi Party

Kanpur, Oct 14: BJP President Amit Shah on Friday took a dig at the ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh for the “deteriorating law and order” situation in the state, and said the party should first try to control the “infighting” within it. Shah also attacked Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati for not doing anything good for the Dalits and the downtrodden. “The government has failed to control law and order in the state. How will those who cannot control law and order in their own family control the state,” Shah asked at a rally here.

Slamming Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for the poor law and order situation, the Bharatiya Jata Party chief said: “UP is very big Akhilesh bhaiya (brother)... first of all, control your family... only then will a bit of peace return to the state.” The BJP President’s remarks came amid souring relations between the Chief Minister and his uncle and senior Minister Shivpal Yadav. Attacking the BSP chief, the BJP President said, “Mayawati claims to get rid of the misgovernce under the SP regime, but will she and her brother reveal the actual property which they had after the death of Kanshi Ram ji and now?” “The day she reveals her property details, Dalits of Uttar Pradesh will understand,” the BJP leader added.

He accused the BSP and the SP of doing injustice to the Dalits and the poor. Lashing out at Mayawati for supporting the Congress, Shah said, “Mayawati supported Congress–led UPA (United Progressive Alliance) for 10 years. And in return Congress kept on insulting Baba Bhim Rao Ambedkar.”

“It’s BJP, which under the leadership of Prime Minister rendra Modi preserved all the monuments and buildings related to Baba B.R. Ambedkar,” he added. (IANS)
