Controversy over newborn baby: Couple hands over baby girl to childless couple

Bongaigaon, June 9: Bongaigaon district administration had filly decided to take firm action in the case of a couple in Bengtol Khumguri of Chirang district. Sabita rzary, wife of Dillip rzary, was admitted in Chilaray Hospital for her delivery. After delivering the child, the amount charged by the hospital was Rs 30,000, which the couple could not pay. One of the nurses came up with a solution for not paying the hospital bill. She suggested that the couple should hand over the baby to a childless couple. Controversy arose when some people claimed that since the baby was a girl child, the couple was not happy and expressed their wish to get rid of the baby to the nurse. The nurse in turn communicated this information to the childless couple in Baksa. The deal was done outside the hospital, claimed sources.
