Convention of all trade unions held at Bongaigaon

Bongaigaon, August 16: A joint convention of all trade unions of Bongaigaon and Chirang district was held on Sunday in Bongaigaon. Few resolutions were adopted against the Central Government’s anti-labour, anti-common people policy. Adddressing the gathering, Ashish Biswas, State Secretary of Hind Mazdoor Sabha said that the Modi government was just a puppet in the hands of corporate houses. “Hence it can never think about the interest and development of the common people. We have called for an all India bandh on September 2. We appeal to all people to co-operate in our agitation,” he said. Several leaders including Asit Dutta, State secretary CITU, Nek Md Khan, secretary, Assam Petrolium Mazdoor Union, Tonmoy Raha, Central AGS of NF Railway Mazdoor Union and many others were present in this meeting.
