Convention of five Tiwa organizations concludes

HOWRAGHAT, July 26: The 23rd and 24th convention of five Tiwa organizations concluded here peacefully. The convention held with two day-long programme, was held was at Tiwa Cultural Bhavan, Diphu.

The joint conventions of five Tiwa organizations like Tiwa Mathonlai Tokhra (Tiwa Sahitya Sabha), Tiwa Students’ Union (TSU), Tiwa Cultural Society, Tiwa Regiol Council Demand Committee (TRCC) and All Tiwa Women Association (ATWA) were held in the same venue.

After two days elaborate discussion on the different issues of the Tiwa community, all the committees of the five organizations were reshuffled. Jayanta Amchi and Bukul Pator were elected as president and secretary of the Tiwa Students’ Union (TSU). On the other hand, Apurba Sagra, Jardon Pator, Madhob Mosorong, Dipen Puma, Puneswar Puma Kartik Dekaraja were elected as presidents and secretaries of the Tiwa Mathonlai Tokhra (Tiwa Sahitya Sabha), Tiwa Cultural Society (TCS), and Tiwa Regiol Council Demand Committee (TRCC). The committees of the five organizations were constituted with 17 members each. The newly-constituted Tiwa bodies vowed to work sincerely for the development of the Tiwa community.
