Cooperative Market Association celebrates Independence Day

SILCHAR, Aug 18: The members of Silchar Wholesale Cooperative Market Association (SWCMA) celebrated the joyous occasion of the tion’s 69th Independence Day by organizing a cultural programme in the premises of the SWCMA complex. Subhash Ranjan Dey, an elderly citizen and member of the Association, hoisted the tri-colour in presence of members and shop owners of the market. Speaking on the occasion, Dey asked the citizens particularly the youth of the tion to come forward and work hard towards making our motherland the most developed country in the world.

 Hemanta Purkayastha, advisor to SWCMA, paid tributes to the freedom fighters on the occasion. He also requested the members to keep the Association free from negative influences. Biswath Paul, president, Ashis Roy, secretary, and members Radheshyam Dutta, Ratan Roy, Goutam th, Ranu Dutta, Rahul Roy were among those present on the occasion.
