Cops injured in leopard attack referred to AMCH

JORHAT, Feb 20: Nine persons, including two cops, who were attacked in the recent leopard attack, are still undergoing treatment.

Two cops from the Pulibor Outpost, identified as Tarun Gogoi and Molen Gogoi, both Assam Police constables, have been referred to Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh, from Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) in a critical condition while seven persons injured are undergoing treatment at JMCH, said Dr Saurav Borkotoky, the Superintendent of JMCH, on Tuesday. Both the cops were attacked by the male leopard on Sunday at Ujani Gayan Gaon under Pulibor outpost where a total of 11 persons were injured when the leopard suddenly appeared and attacked people. On the other hand, Bhaikon Bora (45) and Prasenjit Bora (25) were released on Monday while nine others are still undergoing treatment. The leopard jumped and attacked Tarun Gogoi while Molen Gogoi received injuries while trying to save his colleague, said Dipak Dutta, the Range Officer of Jorhat Range.
